Hi, I’m Tara!
I am a Radical Wayfinder & Liberation Guide, Integrative Mental Health Counselor, licensed school counselor & health educator, yoga & meditation teacher, childless stepmom of two, gluten-free foodie, and adventurous nature lover who rides snowboards and runs wildly in the mountains.
Originally from Michigan, I graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Health Promotion in Kinesiology. After serving a year in the AmeriCorps, I continued my studies at the University of Vermont earning a dual Masters in Mental Health & School Counseling. Prior to becoming a full-time entrepreneur, I spent 11+ years working in public education. In 2018, I was named a Rowland Fellow which led me to research the ways in which schools can integrate social-emotional learning and wellness to proactively support students and staff. Looking to amplify the voice of school counselors, I stepped in to the role of President of the Vermont School Counseling Association from 2019-2021 leading the organization through a dynamic time of unanticipated focus on the role of the school counselor due to the COVID pandemic. In the summer of 2020, I completed my 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training with Alchemy of Yoga and have also been certified in Buti Yoga since in 2018. I carry a strong foundation in vipassana and metta meditation developed under the guidance of my late mentor Anthony Quintiliani and various other insight teachers which began in 2013 as a healing modality to guide me through my divorce. In Spring 2021, I started my Ayurvedic journey under the guidance of Marisa Hall and Heather Neff as I began integrating dinacharya (daily rituals and routines) and choosing foods more aligned with the seasons. In 2022, I completed a yearlong Ayurvedic immersion with Claire Ragozzino (whose cookbook is my all-time favorite!)
You will find my offerings to be magically heart-centered, trauma-informed, and intuitively guided through deep connection of the mind, body, and soul as I am passionate about guiding individuals to live a wholehearted life through development of the heart and mind- awakening and honoring the full expression of their most authentic self. You will find me offering integrative mental health counseling, leading intuitive movement and meditation classes, facilitating workshops & retreats, and offering wayfinding to individuals and within small groups. Generally my weekly and individual offerings are open to all humans, but I specialize in working with women navigating life transitions such as divorce, blended families, career or identity shifts, and any other significant life challenge that may create discomfort or emotional suffering. I also provide coaching, consulting, and professional development within education systems to build more wholehearted schools. My educational work currently focuses on proactive systems-thinking with a focus on caregiver engagement and psycho-education along with employee wellbeing and mental health through integration of social-emotional learning, wellness, and restorative practices.
I currently live in the woods of Northfield, Vermont with my husband and two fur babies.
